Mega Gas Alternative Energy is revolutionizing clean cooking in Kenya. Born out of a personal pain point, our project addresses the dire need for affordable and eco-friendly cooking solutions, particularly in low-income communities. Through our community kitchens powered by clean and affordable cooking gas, we are currently providing to over 60,000 households with our clean cooking gas. Our clean cooking gas is made from recycled plastic waste through a patented thermal cracking process. By offering a clean alternative to traditional biomass fuels, Mega Gas reduces indoor air pollution, enhancing indoor air quality and minimizing associated health risks caused by harmful pollutants emitted during traditional cooking methods involving wood and charcoal. Our gas is 50% cheaper and has a 25% calorific value compared to LPG in the market. This innovation not only improves health and quality of life but also creates jobs and fosters community resilience.
